At St Oswald’s, we welcome pupils from service families and have a significant number of pupils with parents based at nearby Imphal Barracks. We have worked hard to understand the particular needs and issues facing service families and pupils and to ensure that we support them as well as we can. In particular, we try to make sure that the impact of mobility is minimised by giving pupils a smooth transition into and out of our school.
Our school recognises that Service children face unique challenges; frequent moves, changes in home, school and friends, long periods of separation from loved ones and that because of this at times some children and their families require additional support.
We recognise that school receives funding to support pupil who are from service families. How our budgeting and provision is adapted is detailed on our ‘Pupil Premium Strategy’.
