Our Curriculum Intent Statement
Our aim at St Oswald’s is to provide our children with a purposeful, relevant and engaging curriculum that builds on prior learning, equips our pupils for today and prepares them for the future. Our curriculum is designed to build resilience and a ‘can do’ attitude and provide opportunity for all pupils, including those who are vulnerable, to flourish and be the best that they can be.
Everything we do in school contributes to children’s personal, spiritual, moral and cultural development, and our curriculum encourages independence and responsibility, with the opportunity for our pupils to play a valued role in school and the wider community. All children within our diverse community are celebrated for their uniqueness and are equipped with the sense of belonging that fosters confidence and self-belief. We want our children to be ready for their next stage of education and to leave our school with the foundations for becoming well-rounded and confident adults, prepared for life in modern Britain.
